Astroberry OS for amd64
For years, we’ve helped the astronomical community run on the power efficiency of the Raspberry Pi. But what happens when your setup doesn't use a Pi?
We are thrilled to announce that we are actively porting and heavily testing Astroberry OS for amd64 architecture! This means we’re not just supporting more hardware—we’re unlocking possibilities. It means running the full power of astro-data processing, analysis tools, and imaging pipelines on your existing desktop or workstation setup, while retaining the clean, optimized experience you love from Astroberry OS.
While our core strength remains on the Raspberry Pi (ARM64), this port significantly extends our utility by allowing advanced astrophotographers and research groups to utilize Astroberry’s full feature set across diverse computational platforms. This transition is a massive engineering undertaking, but it drastically widens the deployment options for reliable, optimized astronomical computing.
What does this mean for you? This expansion will bridge the gap between portable Pi setups and more powerful miniPCs. More hardware means more data, and more data means better discoveries!
